Milo Moiné stands with a banner demanding:
Milo Moiré was pictured standing nude outside Cologne’s famous cathedral holding a placard stating: “Respect us! We are not free game even when we are naked!!!”
She said:“I am firmly convinced that women will no longer be treated as sex objects when a naked woman is treated with as much respect as a clothed one.”
Milo Moiné took to the square to protest against the sex attacks
Hundreds of women were allegedly sexually assaulted and mugged in the square on New Year’s Eve, with 18 of the 31 suspects being asylum seekers.
And it was announced yesterday that the Chief of police in Cologne was sacked as a response to the authorities’ handling of the attacks.
Police are investigating the attacks
The incident has sparked a heated debate in Germany about the country’s open-door policy to migrants.
Around 1,000 demonstrators from anti-immigration group Pegida are expected to gather outside of the city’s train station today, according to police.
There was also concern that a similar incident might have taken place in Switzerland.
Angela Merkel has come under fire for her “open door” policy to migrants
Zurich police revealed six women were allegedly robbed, groped and molested by a “crowd of multiple men with dark coloured skin”.
The number is unusually high for the country, which has one of the lowest crime rates in Europe.
A spokesperson for the police force added that the attacks were “a little bit similar” to the 120 cases of robbery and sexual abuse that took place in Cologne on the same night.
