DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – The League of United Latin American Citizens is planning a peaceful protest of Donald Trump before his scheduled appearance in Davenport on Thursday, July 28, 2016.
Trump, the Republican nominee for president, is scheduled to speak at the Adler Theater at 4 p.m.
LULAC members will meet an hour earlier at 3 p.m. on 4th Street at the federal courthouse, which is adjacent to the Adler.
“We are protesting Trump’s use of denigrating terms and his willingness to stir up the negative side of people with his broad generalizations of Latinos and women,” LULAC posted online Wednesday night.
The post goes on to say “LULAC is nonpartisan, however, we want to make it clear that we don’t accept or approve of Mr. Trump’s racist, sexist rhetoric.”
