WLM and BLM groups protest in Houston

HOUSTON – Protesters from the White Lives Matter group and also from the Black Lives Matter group protested outside of the office of the Anti-Defamation League in southwest Houston on Saturday.

Supporters of the White Lives Matter group called themselves the “Neo-Natzi White Knights of America.”

The group claims the League has called them the “Neo-Natzi Hate Group.” Protesters shouted “White Lives Matter!” as they gathered outside of the Civil Right organization’s office.

“They labeled us a hate group, they didn’t label the Black Lives Matter a hate group. That’s why we are here today, to protest the Anti-Defamation League.” said Scott Lacy.

Counter protesters from various groups including Black Lives Matter also gathered outside the office.

Police and metal barricades kept the two groups separate.

“Honestly, we just came here to drown them out, protesting and counter protesting is a show of force, showing who can outlast who, when one side is spewing hate, the other side is showing love to each other.” said Ashton Woods, a supporter of the Black Lives Matter group.

While there was a lot of shouting, and some protesters even carrying weapons, police said there were no fights and no arrests made.

“It is a little bit loud, it is a little bit heated, but we are here to keep the peace, let everyone exercise their first amendment rights.” said Asst. Chief George Buenik with the Houston Police Department.

The same White Lives Matter group present on Saturday also recently held protests outside of the NAACP and outside of an Islamic Center.
