A local community activist is calling for a “Season of Peace”, inviting the men of Bakersfield to join him for a special rally today.

Danny Morrison, the founder of the “How Long Movement” says it’s time to stand up and lead by example.

He’s calling for no gang shootings, no homicides and no violence throughout the holidays.

Morrison is calling on businessmen from the black community, members of the clergy, law enforcement and men who’ve left the gang life behind, to join him today in prayer and fellowship, culminating in a plea for peace this holiday season in Bakersfield.

The rally will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the corner of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Houser Street.
