Thousands of Nottingham Forest fans stage protest against Fawaz …

More than 1,000 Nottingham Forest fans turned out for a protest against owner Fawaz Al Hasawi at the City Ground.

Congregating in the Peter Taylor Stand car park an hour before kick-off for the Championship game against Bristol City, they raised banners, held signs and chanted for the Kuwaiti to leave the club.

And they were joined by former Reds striker Stan Collymore, who had said he would stand in “solidarity” with supporters as they looked to get their message across.

Chants of “Fawaz Al Hasawi get out of our club” and “we want our Forest back” rang out, while a large banner, with a picture of legendary former boss Brian Clough, read “Fawaz? Get out of MY club young man….”.

Another banner read: “Fawaz. You’ve lost our loving feeling. Forest till we die. It’s time for you to say goodbye.”

While the demonstration passed largely without any trouble, smoke bombs did go off in the car park.

And the large number of people outside meant the City Ground stands were incredibly empty, even half an hour before kick-off.

Fans tell Fawaz Al Hasawi ‘you’ve lost our loving feeling’.
