Hundreds in Denver metro expected to protest mass ICE …

DENVER — Hundreds of Coloradans are expected to protest President Donald Trump’s “anti-immigrant rhetoric and ICE Deportation Force” outside the ICE detention center for the Denver Metro area Saturday afternoon.

“In the past 48 hours hundreds of people have been removed from their homes and jobs and placed in ICE detention centers across the nation,” reads the event Facebook page.

The protest will be taking place at 3130 Oakland Street in Aurora starting at 4 p.m. and will go on until 6 o’clock at night.

Protesters are asked to bring signs, megaphones, U.S. flags, as well as flags of their country of origin and “anything you can think of that will be a show of peaceful force at those choosing to subject one of the most marginalized and vibrant parts of our society.”

“This is a peaceful protest to show that Coloradans and Americans stand in solidarity with our immigrant population. We will not stand idly by and let this administration’s racist and bigoted policies rip families apart. We are united with one voice to say NOT ONE MORE,” said event organizer Holly Smith in a news release.
