Three people were accused of blocking access to the Atlantic Sunrise pipeline in Lancaster County over the weekend, according to reports.
The protestors face criminal trespass charges after the incident Saturday in Martic Township, said Lancaster Online.
Lancaster Against Pipelines staged the protest around 1 p.m. as crews were clearing trees on a property near Lakewood Drive.
Ann Neumann, a spokeswoman for the group, said protestors used PVC pipes to “lock down” the site. The words “block greed” were painted on the pipes. Police surrounded them with yellow shrouds while cutting the pipes to remove the protestors.
This follows previous protests in which five people were arrested Oct. 21 and 23 on Oct. 16 on land owned by the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, a religious community, at a pipeline construction site in West Hempfield Township.
