JAMMU, Oct 22: All JK NHM Employees Association, Jammu Division is going to hold a one-day protest demonstration at Press Club, Jammu on October 25 to remind the State Government of the pending primary demand of regularization of NHM employees.
Addressing a press conference here today, Rohit Seth, president of the Association, said that NHM employees have been agitating for their rightful and genuine demand of regularization for last many years. He said in March 2017, after 15-day strike by the employees, a committee of four officers was formed to look into the demands of NHM employees which had to submit its report in 2 months but instead of working towards resolution of demands, the committee played a very negative role through dilly dallying tactics and did nothing for almost nine months.
“Further, on December 2017 after a State-wide strike of NHM employees which continued till January 22, 2018 and was suspended only after assurance and acceptance of the demands of NHM employees by then Health Minister, Bali Bhagat, a high level Group of Officers was formed with a clear mandate for looking into the demand of regularization and other demands of NHM employees”, he said.
Seth said this Group of Officers had to meet continuously from time to time with representatives of All JK NHM Employees Association for working towards resolution of issues but till date only customary meeting has happened, approximately after the lapse of 7 months, on August 2.
