The women workers raised slogans against the Odisha government and demanded speedy justice to the Pipili gang rape-and-murder case victim.
The incident caused traffic in Bhubaneshwar, which led to police intervention.
According to sources, some BJP women workers are also arrested.
A 19-year-old Dalit woman was raped in November 2011 who then died in June 2012 after remaining in a semi-comatose state for several months.
The incident triggered a political storm in the state leading to the resignation of former agriculture minister and Pipli MLA Pradeep Maharathy.
The family members of the victim have raised serious allegations about the “shoddy inquiry” in the rape case and demanded a CBI inquiry into the gangrape and murder case.
